velux in high ceilings
« on: August 02, 2014, 11:02:57 pm »
Hi All, I have a new job, smallish office block which I cleaned inside and out first time on Friday. They have quite a few helix Windows, v dirty and the ceilings are about fifteen feet high. I don't intend to do them with a ladder as I feel it us too dangerous.
What platforms are available for this type of job that you have used and can recommend?
Tvm.

Not even with a long step ladder Tom?
I'm doing a double height next week.
A proper long steps is fine...

Nah, I already have the vikan easishine and it's fine for maintenance cleans but not a chance on green, slimy glass.

You turn velum windows around to clean the outside from the inside. I assume he can't get them from the outside.

Try these. There isn't much that they won't shift.

Hi Tom, i can send you microcleaning mop pads which are 40 times more effective than microfiber mop pads, these microcleaning mop pads have a fiber backing which will stick onto the velcro strips of your easishine frame, use these microcleaning mop pads damp with water and they will eat through the green algae on the velux windows, you can then stick on the little waffle cloths to finish off the cleaning, if this solution can be of benefit to you tom, just let me know.  Regards Tadgh

I have a job that I use Easyshine pads for on the inside.  Every few months I have to get up there and blade them though.  I would like to cut out the blading.  Unfortunately, the windows face the Sun so everything shows on a sunny day and they can look pretty smeary.  So, can you link to a picture of what you're selling please as the link in your sig just goes to a "site under development" message.

Hi David,

Just to confirm microcleaning pads (magic eraser pads) are the most effective tool for deep cleaning heavily soiled glass, as you will see from the picture below the green fibre backing will stick onto your easyshine frame. Just dampen the pad with water and proceed to scrub the soiled glass until all residues have been loosened.

Then use 1 Little Waffle Cloth damp to wipe away all soils, finally just wipe with a second dry Little Waffle Cloth to achieve a streak free finish , this method is ideal for any interior glass/mirrors  when you need to clean quickly with no spills/splashes
