Hi all have been asked to clean a new build as I have not done this before am struggling to quote can someone point me in the right direction. I have done a test patch and site manager is happy, but want quote by end of day. The area is around 140 sq m they want all bricks cleaned including chimney stacks  with brick acid if needed then all of the stone work.. site will be level so will use towers. I was thinking of a price around 1600  is that way to much or too little.  Just need rough price guide , or per sq m .   Thanks Paolo

I would go in at about a days work @ whatever your day rate is - about £500 for me

im thinking its gonna take at least 2 days but depends if i use extending lance or a tower. i got a rough quote from a company that specialise in brick cleaning and it came in at 4000+vat how can they charge so much for a clean makes my 1600 look cheap. its a big house with few different levels so up and down tower alot. any more advise

Looking at the first photo you need to buy the brick layer a new level. If you can eke that job out over a couple of days then great go for it

lol      prob why the pols got booted off the job. gonna put my original quote through and see wot happens. thanks for replies bdcs. if i do get job want to make sure its done right  i could  get more work from it. how would you go about cleaning it?

The mess is usually at each lift of the scaffold and runs down when it rains. The snotters usually just fly off - I usually do it from the ground with the extending lance and a turbo nozzle - work bottom up. You usually only need to get up to the bits where they knock the spot board over but most I do from the ground.

If you haven't done before I'd consider subbing and helping the subbie. If you can't sub then pass.

This house in particular isn't a good first job because of size and value. Lots to consider that could go wrong.

A turbo nozzle in inexperienced hands could be disasterous. That's before you get onto the subject of acid!

be careful - any normal house builder will hit you with contra-charges relating to blasting out any weak mortar which can be expensive as the subbies will try and charge an hour per patch which could be £20 or thereabouts

i know someone it happened to not long ago - we do the internal cleaning on new builds thats how i got talking to him
