Got a great share for you if you have issue with knowing what keywords are being using by prospects using google.

Statcounter is a great tool, now they added a new benefit

Ian what is the purpose of all these links , as when i search for carpet cleaners chelmsford you dont come up anywhere.

Also on all your posts on google there is no tel no for you or any indication that you do carpet cleaning .

so my question is whats the point ?

a degree in marketing would of helped you more than one in cleaning

Their are many ways to run a business and although Ian's posts may be no help to some I'm sure others find them useful and at least he tries to make a contribution to the board so I don't get why he get's the stick he does, although I do think he could explain why the information he posts are going to be of use more.

I,m not knocking Ian I just wondered what the purpose was .

Mine is to reach as many people in my local area as possible, and convert them into good  paying long term customers.

His posts are of interest and I get that, but I would make sure each person who read the article didnt have to look far for my contact no.

To be honest, there's a few of us could post things regularly but most readers here would not have a clue what it's about and more importantly, how they can apply it to their businesses.

It needs to be relevant to the people here.

It also needs to be up to date (which in fairness, this one is). There have been things posted here recently that I was taught in 2009.

No problem Neil.

I cannot speak for Ian but I presume you mean the two sites in my signature?

Both of these (and a few others of mine) got hammered by Penguin 1. It was an algorithmic rather than manual penalty for over optimised anchor text plus I suspect, the de-indexing of a lot of supporting sites (see image below).

It would take a too much time and money to clean up the link profiles when I have other projects on the go. As far as I am concerned the domians are not worth that effort.
