I said Porty, not potty 

Up to now I've been using buckets (and the kitchen sink) to fill my portable, but it's becoming a bit tedious now I'm using a much bigger machine (5 trips!).

Is this your rinse tank fill process, or do you use a hosepipe (or anything else)?

Kitchen sink or bathroom and bucket for me.

Before i got a truckmount i used to fill 3 or 4  25litr water barrels from house and put them in the van they cost about a fiver each.

I have seen it done where they had a plumber fit a hose connector and a ball valve inside. They connected the hose from the tap ( you can get connectors to fit household taps if you want hot water ) to the machine so it constantly tops up.

You could just get a cut down length of hose and leave it on while pre-spraying ect but if you anything like me you will forget to come back and turn it off

You need to be careful if connecting a hot water hose to a tap with a ball valve arrangement in your solution tank. Sometimes this can back pressure the boiler and cause a flood.
Nothing wrong with running a hose to the machine and filling it with hot water tho.

Get a water tank fitted like window cleaners use, say max 250 litre should cover even busiest day with a porty, then you just have a length of hose with an on/off tap, dead easy.
You will save a lot of time on each job this way,bucket filling can take as long as a pre vac......for those that pre vac....

I would check with your insurance first as it may well put up premiums for van insurance.

I have some 25L containers which I fill at home. 
Also have a hose with a screw connector so that I can pinch the washing machine feed if needed.
And two buckets.

Filling buckets is a good chance to have a natter but sometimes I don't want to disturb the washing up mountain.

Years ago I used a hose and ball valve but there are so many types of tap now you would have to have a huge selection of connectors. If it was commercial work then it might be worth the effort tho.

We can rush to much , stop and admire the view .

I talk to much some like some don't you just have to judge it but through chatting I've picked up some really good jobs and 3 carpets 2 surf boards and a home cured Ham .

Not been here long but i love this site.....its good to know Im not the only one who finds sinks full of washing up of that mornings breakfast bowls or the previous nights dried on curry plates!!

I now make a point when I first get to a job by saying `I will need water in a few minutes` then as I pre-spray hear the clunk of dirty dishes being quickly washed!

Me - I use old 5 litre containers of cleaning products and also use that filling time for `the chat`......its amazing during that time how much other work I pick up and thats before any cleaning takes place!

I am with aviva, they covered me no problem, for a 650 litre professionally fitted window cleaning tank, and the TM in my carpet cleaning van
