Admittedly its also at risk of being another bit of useless kit you bought, used once and then slung into the lock-up although I think there may be a small market for a hand tool like this - it would be useful for rinsing back and forward ALONG the nosing with say three flood jets and a flexible vacuum port that could be altered somewhat to allow for different nosings - could save alot of back ache suing a traditional stair tool or even one with a head you can swing thru 180 degrees

any ideas from bright sparks out there?

Not sure what you mean, my Prochem TM upholstery tool deals with every profile of stair nosing.
Have you been drinking M Power again? (well, it's got to be good for something)

Simon - No you miss my lightbulb idea - it would partially cover the actual nosing itself and flood and form a vacuum on the (say) 75mm of the carpet tread and 75 mm of the riser in the same sweep - meaning you wouldn't have to change direction with an uph tool - if thats what you use, or swivel the head on a special stair tool - I'm gonna have to draw it and patent it now. yeah I use an ss uph tool but find towelling the most effective actual cleaning technique on bad nosings - otherwise it looks as if you have not bothered

TBH I have never used mpower - couldn't be fecked to scale up/work out the dilution rate - is it any good then? I use SPM which in my opinion isnt as good as it used to be - when I first used it abut 3 years ago (?) it made a visible difference to the inside of my waste tank!! - I think they must have changed the formula since then - its still a good product imo

Still don't grasp what you mean about the stair tool. I have a Minitex that I scrub stair nosings with if required and that usually deals with the dirtier ones
SPM seems about the same to me, if not a little stronger than before.

alan - bloody hell that was quick, they've ripped me idea off already and got a production model - it seems someone else is as anal as me about nosings (that just sounds plain wrong)

Actual cleaning is easily achieved by any one of numerous methods from minitex to a scrubbing brush but for me its always about the rinsing which is what actually gets the dirt out

you are right tho' that is (almost) exactly what I had in mind - never seen one before and I have been on that site several times - oh well better cancel me world cruise then...
