Derek, I know this sounds obvious but did you run a full scan with MalwareBytes (often a few hours)?

think so, i did run a scan and it took a while, that malware updates about 3 times a day, is that normal?

If it's malwarebytes yes, but you have the trial of the paid for version, once the trial ends, you get a window telling you the trial is over and I think you just click to stop getting reminders, from then on when you run a scan it will ask to update. You don't get it checking in the background with the free version, but running a scan once a week in easy enough. Has the pop up survey stopped?
