i'm all for helping people out but all this letting other people use your photos is madness if you ask me. it takes time to build up a decent portfolio of photos and you're making it far too easy for brand new startups, creating loads more competition without them putting in the time or effort. i reckon you should only put photos of work you've done yourself on your own site not other peoples work. and if you haven't done any work then go and do some friends or family or some cheap jobs to get some photos and experience.

Ed whats in the sprayer on the Indian Sandstone? Also what pressure and what nozzles are you running on the FSC on the decking? I'm always wary using an FSC on decking and never tried it, theres loads of conflicting reviews.

Roland S just so you know i have had experience power washing but never thought to take photos of my work because it was just a job, i never thought in a million years i would one day start up on my own with hindsight i would of snapped a load of pics.

As for using only pics of work you have done loads of businesses use stock photos as an example , and im not going to label any thing as my own work so its not like im lying, im just saying here are some examples of what power washing can achieve.....now giz a job  ;D

it wasn't a dig at you personally justin just my feelings. setting up a pressure washing business hasn't got many hurdles as it is, but handing it on a plate by giving out before and after photos etc is just crazy in my opinion. i would gladly help anyone out on here and have recieved loads of help as well but i wouldn't use someone elses pics and pass the work off as my own and wouldn't give mine out either. but like i say just giving my opinion, and i hope you do well with your biz.

I didn't think you were having a dig at me mate just wanted to say i wont be passing it off as my own work i just want an example picture so my web site doesn't look barren, and i do under stand were your coming from in regards to pressure washing being an easy start up, but its like any start up if you cant make enough money fast enough to pay the bills you cant do it and that's the biggest hurdle for everyone taking that risk.

Neil , what machine are you using ?

There are different methods to clean decks from chems , pressure  , wood orbitors ect . They all have there uses and its a matter of what does the customer want. If you are going to completely restore a deck from scratch like what  Roger does then it comes with a price tag .

Nothing wrong with FSC if used correctly ie not too much pressure , avoiding ring marks , blending in edges ect.ect

Just done a three tier deck on a riverside property, just used a lance and blended everything in.

Roland , agree with starting up as a newbie , i did my own, neighbours, friends for the price of the fuel to gain some hands on.

Its not just a matter of buying a pw. More people will fail than succeed because of income stream. If i can help then i will.

There are members on here with far more knowledge and expertise than me, that i have gained their input and help.

Competition is healthy and their is enough work out their for everyone. Ed

How do you copy and paste these photos ?

I am having a website built and as i get more work i will replace the ones i have had permission to use with my own.

people buy stock photos for all sorts of reasons and i have not said anywhere on my website that the photos represent work i have done they are just examples of how peoples drives could look after cleaning.
