Hi Guys

this has been a long time coming and I am sure many here will be please ans some not so happy. with all the talk that google gives about spam local is one area that they have a blind eye with. I am sure this will be just the first step as when media get hold of it then more focus will come the bear. Having a address that is a mail box or friends is misleading to customers. I have done it and had problems so I am not innocent, learnt my lesson and moved on.

If you read that article carefully it's actaully about not being able to have multiple owners per one geo business location.

Have another read Ian, I think I have that right.

(Not multi locations. ie branches)

The problem I believe they are addressing is duplicate listings.

eg. Tesco head office claims and verifies a listings and enters details, but so does the local branch, Now google has a duplicate listing for the same store and two owners.

Now they will only allow one owner per geographical business listing. That way they don't have duplicate listings.

I think it would be better if they did away with exact locations for our type of business ie non brick and motor and allowed us to put geographic areas we cover.

If you want to go to Ipswich and you can make money thats up to you.

But I think a 20 or 30 mile service area is adequate.

I was talking to a friend in Runcorn the other day and he was horrified at the distances us Country Folk Cover
