I have been leaving it open at all times. Only had this tank about a week, should I be closing it at any stage?

Maybe if you want to drain pump on a frosty night or if got a layflat, when your water is low and moving the van (stops possible air locks)

Only couple of reasons i can think of....

My last tank, the outlets were at the top, with hose pipe going down into it. So I wasnt sure if the outlet being at the bottom with the tap open cause any issues.

I close mine on a frosty night and start pump up to drain pipes.

Its great until the first house the next morning and your screaming FFFFFFUUUUU wish i was trad still, what the &^^%$*(( is going on. Oh yeah

But draining the pipes, would this not then create airblokes?

Open tap, disconnect hose reel, turn on pump, 20 seconds later air blocks gone and pump kicks in properly
