Generator for Gutter Vac
« on: February 15, 2014, 04:04:14 pm »
Hi All,

Up until now I've been using customers power to run my 3000w gutter vac...

I need to get a generator capable of running it now for an up coming commercial contract.

Can anyone recommend a good one?

Thanks,
Andy  ;)

Hi Ed we will be getting the grippa vac poles, most of the work we will be aiming for will be no higher than 40ft but I do have one client interested at 55ft.

I really need to get the Grippa poles, we use ally ones just now and they are ok for light domestic work, but getting more and more challenging stuff that need to go higher for.

Just had an enquiry at 50ft last week, but only way I can see it do-able is off a truck mounted platform. No vac on the planet would clear the down pipe on these!

Hi stu, the vac has been excellent, nearly 5 years old, blew a motor sometime in year 3 - replaced with one from a big online seller for 65 quid, however that motor blew a few months ago so was replaced again.  Not bad considering the run time of a good 1000 hours, and that includes a nasty swimming pool internal dust extraction for ground up fibre glass.

Defo go for carbon, still on Ali poles myself, but carbon on the list  ::)roll

Don't go for a silicone bend, rigid plastic or Ali because sometimes you need to be a bit brutal with either pushing back slipped tiles, or turfs that get stuck around sky cables or snow boards.
