Hi Jamie, Jamie here  ;D

Dry solvent is used for fine fabrics that can be damaged/distorted/shirnk with water.

Mainly curtains and upholstery but some rugs also.

You attach a hose to connector at the rear, this goes into a bottle of OMS solvent (odourless mineral solvent)
roughly £25 - £50 for 5ltr.  You fill up the tank to cover the coils and put the heater on high. You attach a vent hose to vac outlet and vent the pipe to outside. The solvent then
runs through the heat exchanger coils and comes out hot at the hand tool.

Not as effective as water but as Jamie says good for silks/ viscose/ rayon / cotton velvet curtains   etc

hope this helps, Training would be advised as solvent can wreck fabrics like Alcantera.

The machine I bought came with everything the pipes, hoses and the hand attachment all in a bag also got the original receipt which cost him £799 to add this to his machine sounds like more hassle than its worth tho!

It can give you added confidence to fall back on. Say if your asked to clean a glossy pile suite you're not sure about.
and it just needs a freshen up, after a thorough vac. a quick hot solvent clean and suite drys quick, glosses up
and custy very happy with no pile distortion.   ;D

Hi Guys

Dry solvent is a term used to describe solvents which are non ionic, that is they do not dissolve in water.

Solvents like isopropanol are ionic and therefore wet out.

Cheers
