Carpet & upholstery clean, Lincolnshire
« on: January 07, 2014, 06:26:04 pm »
Would anyone like to come and clean 2 or 3 carpets, my stairs and a single seat chair and footstool?

I don't know anything about this stuff, can you price blind? Or is it quote on sight?

Thanks lads.
Yeah, Lincs is definitely a funny place. Glad I'm not a local!

Anyway, found a company to do it.
£2.50 psqm(we're having 50sqm done) for the carpets and £25 each for the footstool and chair.

Company: J&P Clean Image
I thought it was a bit cheap but we're in a 'funny town'.
Happy if he does a good job for that, though.
What are your thoughts lads?

Proves the point, cheap does put people off.

Does a bit. I would've thought that was a fair price rather than cheap but someone in the WC section said be wary if it was less than £50 per seat. That's the only reason I wanted a little feedback.

It's £175 for the carpet, chair & footstool, he reckons 3-4hours work. £50ph(ish) seems medium to high to me...

Darren, personally I'd have charged a bit more.

It's not worryingly cheap, different areas have different ideas of 'medium' I think your ok there.

A few on here say being too cheap can put people off, I just wanted to point out your comment as a customer proves that.

I agree with the time taken 3 to 4 hrs and sounds a fair price.

I have just spoken to one of my neighbours, she asked how much her through lounge would be to clean, she said if it was over £200 she would just get a new one.

Told her I could do it for under that  ;)

Ok-carpets done, chair & footstool too.
Done in 2 sittings.
Nice job.
Chair is still a bit wet but looks like it'll come up nice.
4 bedrooms, hallway, stairs & lounge chair & poof
Grand total of: £210.
Good price I thought.
Good job.

One thing he couldn't shift but we (and he) have no idea what it is.
Feels like superglue. He says it definitely isn't as the chemical he had would've just melted it.
Any ideas anyone please? (Of how to get rid, not what it could be)
And there's a bit of blue (could be white board pen) ink on the carpet that hasn't quite come out. Anyone recommend anything to shift it?
I don't really wanna ask him back cause he's done a good job and it'll seem like on not happy if I call him back-but I am happy with his work overall.
Hope that makes sense!
Hope someone will be kind enough to help...

Some stains just wont move. How long has it been there? Probably quite a while, so that doesnt help.
As I always say, I will do my best but not all stains will/can be removed.

White board pen-few months tbh. Anything shift that?
Mystery stain-less than a month...
