my house is how you say back to front,      front of house = kitchen, bathroom, toilet,   driveway.
at the moment i have been filling a water drum up via the RO setup in my kitchen  , draining out of kitchen window from ro tubing into water butt, then transferring into 25 litre drums for use with backpack.

my dielema is when i get my van and setup this next few months  i will need a good supply prefferebly an ibc tank,

mrs says too much s..t in the front at the moment.  looking with that face.

has anyone had this scenario,    im going to have to contact a plummer to see if they can fit a conection from the house to bring a copper pipe to the rear of the house  via some water pipe conection to connect onto the outside wall,  adding a tap   so i can leave on over nite,  i wouldnt dream of leaving an RO setup on all night when using in the kitchen
if i lived by myself id  have a tap setup out front,     but im not.

JB, Are you floorboards on the ground floor?

If so that should be an easy pipe work job.

If not ,can you tie into a cold feed pipe at the rear of house maybe?

If possible i would get a static tank put in a shed in back garden then quickly transfer water into van .

Cold water pipe and tap outside is a pretty straight forward job . Mike

van mounted 4040 ro, spur a feed off of cold mains supply in kitchen through wall to an outside tap, job done.

all floors chip board, maybe a conection up stairs.going out to rear of wall, then down wall to a tap built on.  40/40 ro     maybe too much at the moment.        its so cheap with the 300 RO  for now.i can get tap fitted on front,  but as i say missus face snarling     at hosepipes and an RO fitted in front porch.

A 4040 may initially cost you more than the ro you have now but the advantage is you will fill a tank in your van in a matter of a few hours as opposed to overnight.
Compare that to buying/sourcing an ibc, transfer pump and hose, possibly a shed ? it soons adds up to more than the £350 ish for a 4040 ro.

If you do not like the idea of it being van mounted build an insulated and weather proofed box for it and mount it to the wall where the outside tap would be fitted, it would not take up much space and could be made to look quite tidy.

Loved ones dont realise whats involved AFTER and BEFORE work starts. I was home at 2pm and have only just finhsed sorting two vans for tomorrow and calls and texts.

Johnny had a look at your profile it says North East were are you based , Surely you are in a soft water area like me just outside Durham .

If so get a 15ltr DI vessel in the back of your van after your pump  and fill van tank with tap water and purify your water as you use it . Mike

most areas in the north east are around 200 mate

Teesside is hard water area , Near enough from keilder down in Durham area and beyond is for a lot of houses 75ppm max and sometimes 28ppm .

I defo dont drink the tap water when in Hartlepool . Mike

ive told her  ,   she knows if i cant get a tap out the back,   it Will have to be the front,   cant really do wfp if no constant water supply.     cant get a job that pays £15+ per hour,  and start when you want.
