Hey Martin

If you were to fill out your profiles page and had your web address added too, you may get more of a response, and the others on the forum would also know that you are not a newcomer to the game and that you are serious when you say you want to compete with the big boys.

Just a thought, that was all

Hi Martino, ;D
There is no magic solution to getting contracts, it comes with time and experience, one mans(womans) way of getting contracts is different to another mans(womans) way, the most obvious is word of mouth, if your good word will spread, if your rubbish word will spread faster, believe me ;) make sure you advertise in any way possible, there are plenty of free directories you can join, flyers, yell,thompson,supermarkets,websites,forums,newspapers,......

I'm confused as to why someone with 17 years in the cleaning industry with prestigious contracts already in place is asking such basic questions.
Surely by now you should be telling us the secret of your success!

I bought the cleaning company 5 years ago and many of the contract are through recomendation and customers i've had dealings with in the past. we have never advertised in the past and i want to double if not triple what we already have as a company so have started advertising this year and getting out there to contracts i'm interested in.

always good to do a sales and marketing plan and review it often and target the customers u want...

i am just interested in the different ways others make themselves known as i'm new to this site

Martino
When you do come up against quoting against the big hitters you will never win the 'my dad is bigger than your dad' standoff instead use their size to your advantage, ie response times, local guy = local knowledge etc. I am a small cleaning contractor who has been going for 2 years now & am presently quoting for a site against OCS, Mitie & Initial  :P. I was called in today to give a presentation to them & I think I have a chance but only because I played the local guy card.

I find with my bigger contracts they are a lot happier to see the company owner (me :))on sites taking an interest and giving it a bit more of a personal touch
