Price rise 1 april
« on: February 03, 2014, 08:43:32 am »
I have printed out my new invoices with a red underlined note saying
Price rise 1 april 2014
"no-one likes price rises so to make it fair everyone's prices are going up by £1 for fronts and £2 for houses"

Its my first price rise in 2 years and some customers are actually expecting it.

£2 for a house is quite a jump, i think your taking a risk there, be careful.
If its a £10 house then thats a 20 percent increase per customer!.

Do you put your prices up for all your customers or just your older ones? I haven't put mine up for 3 years now

I have only been running full time for a year but started 2 years ago.  I was thinking of just putting up everyone but now reconsidering.  I might put everyone up by a £1 instead of £2 and just do the same next year.  instead of £2 this year and none next year.

Rather than a letter, being as you see most of them talk it through, and £1 is way less likely to cause any issue.

We use Aworka which allows us to increase by a set percentage rounded to the nearest pound, what's clever is that a 4% increase would make a £10 job £10.40, the system will keep the job at £10 but remember the exact price so the following year a 4% increases on £10.40 would result in an increase to £10.82 the job would change to £11 (rounded up) but the system would remember £10.82. Hope that makes sense!

Great app.

Never had an issue.

Got aworka never used this facility as yet ... but if it keeps a £10 job at £10 after a 4% increase ... how does that work and show on your job sheet .. if that makes sense ???.. or will it show it as £10.40?...

You have several options in the set up, we round ours up to the next pound, in the case stared the price shown would be £10,  the system would remeber the exact price as £10.40 so the next price increase would round it to £11.
