I thought I had a leak in my lid but realised water was coming out of the air inlet valve in the lid, I put some duck tape over the valve on inside of lid and problem solved.  Could be worth looking at?

The vent is there to prevent a vacuum forming and preventing water from being able to leave the tank, I thought tapeing it up might  cause a problem but it never has
