ro question
« on: January 14, 2014, 02:40:28 pm »
Just received pure freedom 300 gpd ro they say to flush through for 2 hours with the prefilters and membranes still connected. I thought when replacing new prefilters you had to flush them through so as not to get any muck in the membranes. So if i flush through connected wont that affect the membranes? Thanks in advance

its to flush all the dust etc from membranes,  30 minutes would do.

Cheers johnny  but if i flush through together with new prefilters wont the residue out the prefilters go into the membranes. Always thought new prefilters had to be flushed through before membranes

I always disconnect the pipe from pre-filters to membranes and flush through for a few minutes down the drain just to make sure no debris enters the membranes.
Worth doing in my opinion.
