Oreck, great for agitation, stairs, hallways, small bedroom.
17" Rotary spot on for bonnet cleaning large commercial jobs = too heavy for domestics, so this is were the Oreck comes in...
CRB machine, we use on most jobs, both domestic and commercial depends on how bad the carpets are..

All three have different purposes for the all the different jobs we do.

Personally I wouldn't say the oreck is crap... It works wonders on stairs and were the Rotary won't go.

Then again, on some jobs we use the extractor machine and use the oreck/CRB to agitate.  CRB brings the pile up great.

I agree, the floormac is a fantastic bit of kit on stairs, you can agitate a landing and set of stairs in 5-10 mins with one, much better than by hand, and much faster. Plus i'm not one my hands and knees i'm just stood upright.
