seen this ro on ebay with a 700ml di chamber, now i know thats not a lot but would it be worth it if im doing 250 litres a day with my di being 80ppm and the ro would take it quite low i imagine?

i was all set for 2 11 litre di's but worried im gonna burn a hole in my pocket going through loads of resin!

With 80 ppm tap water reading before ro ,  You will not need an one 11 ltr di vessel never mind two as you will be wasting your money .

If you are purchasing that 300 GPD  unit you will have all you need for your current and future usage .

Although most ro units have 3 pre-filters and a 11 inch  di vessel after ro but that set up should do you very well .

If your TDS is 80ppm after ro unit you will need two 11ltr di vessels or 15.4 ltr from www.daqua.co.uk   and if you really dont have a clue on the best setup contact Daqua and they will provide you with the best set up which will be worth spending a little bit more  . Mike

hi mate yes the 80 ppm is before any sort of ro or di, i was gonna go just for 2 11 ltr di's but not sure how long they'd last doing 250 ltrs a day so was thinking a 300gpd ro and then an 11 ltr di but saw this one with built in di but its pretty tiny being 700ml so wasnt sure!

70ppm will give you approx. 7000 lts at 0ppm  But if you used a twin di you could almost double this amount because not only would you get loads more out your resin  everybody know you can work much higher than 000pm

For over 4 years with a tap water tds of about 70ppm i only ever had an 11 inch DI vessel after my RO and only changed pre-filters every 6 months which will cost you about £30.00 a year  to help protect and prolong the life of ro membranes .

YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY  NO NEED FOR A 11 LITRE DI VESSEL AT ALL , You will be wasting your money as it will not be needed . 

I know a fellow windy who with a similar TDS reading to yours has never even changed his pre-filters in over 3 yrs and is still producing 000ppm out of his RO unit no DI at all . Mike

hi mike this is whats confusing me, some people saying ro will be perfect and take it down to zero but others saying ro will take it there abouts but will need di to get it right down to zero and thats whats making me think rather than mess about with ro, just go for a di setup and then ive got instant water too rather than have to purify it first but on the down side i have to buy expensive resin once in a while but if it lasts me 6-7 months as others are saying then that isnt too bad!

You would be looking at spending £150 a year on resin if di only if you are on a water meter go di only .

If not go for an Ro and save your money longterm , I switched from ro to twin di as a personal as i can purify water quicker if needed. Mike

cheers mike, no im not on a meter but when i get my van up and running i live on a main rd so leaving the hose for hours running to the van for hours would be a problem too whereas running it for 20mins to fill tank up wouldnt be such an issue!

if i got a100gpd ro that would give me 450 litres a day more than enough but if i got something like a 300-350 gpd ro would it fill the system quicker as it produces more litres?

The gpd is american gallons with 100gpd you would be lucky to produce 300ltrs of water in hours in cold weather .

Best off going for the biggest it will be best longterm . Mike

that ro from collins water is a good bit of kit and if you have good water pressure and change the filters every 6 months , it will last you a good few years, my tds is around 230 most of the time ,and my water pressure is over 100psi , the product comes out at 000 without resin , pity i am on a meter
