Was doing a test today using Sealers Choice gold for the first time on a york type stone floor.

Cleaned, rinsed, dried.  Applied a very small amount to a few tiles using a paint pad.  I noticed as I spread the sealer around it went a milky white colour.  I wiped off excess after a few mintues and it looked fine.

Is this normal or is something wrong.  Just curious.

OK never seen that happen!
Couple of questions because I need to ask so don't be offended

What is the primary colour of the stone?
Was the surface dry when you applied the sealer?
Did you shake the bottle well before use?

Low temperature. Was product in van over night?

Maybe he applied to many coats without letting the first coat... on the damp floor in sub zero temperature cure.

Grey slate.  Was drying with fan for 30 mins after clean. Looked dry when sealed.
Didn't shake though.

Seemed ok after sealed wiped off and dry.

OK essentially Aqua Mix Sealers Choice Gold is one of the most forgiving sealers in the World and oneof the easiest to apply.  It maybe that you didn't shake the bottle or it could have been that you had not rinsed correctly but either way will you will not get a white bloom with the product.  It will just disappear.

Hi Mark,

I am not familier with this sealer, but some types are milky when applied, but dry clear. If you checked it a few days later and it look's fine I would not be concerned.

Two things that can lead to a sealer drying white are being affected by moisture or over application.
