This is long overdue for us, I started to sign up with thomas higgins but it all got a bit long winded with what they wanted ect.

So any others would be good to know

Couldnt you make up a legal looking letter yourself to scare them if its a domestic customer Or is that illegal?? Im not on the game when it cimes to legal letters from the debt collectors.

Lee I have used Thomas Higgins a few times and after registering for the first time all subsequent jobs have been really straight forward.
The only thing I would say is that if their letter does not do the trick taking it any further is quite pricey.
I have recently done this with one ex custard who knocked us for over £100 he got the Thomas Higgins letter made contact and said he would pay ,but did not bother.
This one turns out to be a habitual knocker so I did not want to wipe my mouth and move on.
Decided to spend £25 and register with money claim online .
Filled in the form online with details of my claim plus my costs and bingo payment made within 7 days.
If he had not paid it would have been heard at a local court and if proven instant CCJ.

Yes you can recover the charge it is a legit expense in recovering your money so you can add it to the amount outstanding.

what level of debt are you recovering Lee?

We use Thomas Higgins for anything below £100, as once you've set it up it is very easy to use, and with a good success rate (when sent to home owners).

For amounts over £100 we use 2 different companies.
