Brushes
« on: December 10, 2013, 03:58:43 pm »
Had these delivered today.  One on the left is clearly new, but is the one on the right?    Yes it's a different brush (on the right is a soft flocked I think) so maybe the bristles are supposed to be like that but I did expect them all to start off like the one on the left!

Have to contact them anyway because of something else so will let them know about this too if all bristles should be upright and straight

Thank you

One on the right is new, and as it should be.

PS The black and blue brush is AWESOME on leaded windows!

Thanks Pure, it's why I bought it!!  I have a couple of houses with a couple of leaded windows on, and one house covered in them.  As a (hopefully soon to be former) tradder, I always shied away from the lead, and only do this one as I do both their neighbours' houses!  Looking forward to leaded windows now though presumably skylights on a gently sloping roof are still buggers unless I can get a good angle...

Sadly no pencil jets, good job I don't need the brushes for tomorrow!!

Leaded windows and wfp is awesome. They stay so clean its unreal. And they clean so well.

I do around 100 leaded windows and charge sorta £8 - £20 for each one depending on size.

The local trad men hate it as they start at around £14.

Leaded windows are so quick to clean and rinse.

Is a hard brush better on leaded windows?

Only if you want to remove the lead.

Hi CBWC

I can see from your photo that at least the left hand brush does have the brass pencil jets fitted to it. I would be surprised if the other one was sent out with them not  fitted as they cannot have the jet hose and T-connector fitted if these are missing.

With regard to the blue bristles these are meant to look like this. They are very different bristles to the standard black or white bristles.

The black and blue brush ive shortened and use four 1.5mm jets for old school leaded and small framed windows, itworks well.

The brush on the right (the hybrid xtreme) is, according to the Gardiners website, supposed to be good for rinsing on the glass... I always got the impression that flocked bristles held onto the dirt & as such would not be the best for "rinsing on"...
Can anybody confirm or deny this?

I rinse on the glass with it and its fine, doesnt trap a lot of dirt as tbh its an extreme brush and very little bristles to start with :)
