Cimex solution feed
«
on:
November 17, 2013, 08:48:46 pm »
Had a first play with my Cimex today
I was only doing a small area so only put a small amount of solution in. When i was pumping the solution handle feeder, i could see some solution was going through but it was mixed with air locks. The pads were damp but i dont think i was getting anywhere near the right amount of fluid through
As its gravity fed - is it just because i just didnt have enough solution in to start with? i only had about 2 litres in and i am thinking to push the air through i needed more from the start. Or should it feed ok from a little solution and i need to check the solution feed valve?

If it's had encap in it previously this may have blocked up the feed as it crystalised.

Make sure valve is open full and that your filter isn't blocked.
It's probably worth filling up the tank with hot water and checking it is feeding through all 3 holes on the base without the machine switched on.

Jamie - just trying to piece together my order - when would I use brushes as opposed to pads? And what sort of brushes are best?

Thanks for the replies - I had all the valve apart and all seemed better after I greased it up. Then I thought blowing through the pipe that goes to the head would let me know if any of the plumbing was blocked and when I did blow there was some resistance which cleared so I am hoping the next time I try it it will foam up like a good un. Will have a look at that link too - was wondering how to maintain it - thank you!

Hi Des, i know how you feel mate - i had to wait ages for a good used one to come up. Keep looking all the time on ebay etc and when one is listed get in early and make an offer - they tend to go before the auction end.

Hi Jase
I know its early days but how are you getting on with your new cimex ?Are they that much better than a standard rotary.
My only concern would be the manouverability with wheels on the floor. appreciate your ( or anyone's ) feedback.

Hi - i havent used it in anger yet on a 'proper' job but have 2 commercials coming up soon over the next week or so it will get a good test then
i have 'played' with it and i wouldnt have any concerns about moving it around - its easier than a standard rotary as its just like pushing a lawn mower really! The only thing i did notice is i kept trying to move it like i would a rotary as thats what i am use to but its not a problem once the brain re-engages again!
if you are looking for a used one i would just make sure its got the tank fitted and check all the plumbing to the heads are ok as i think as others have said, it would be expensive to get one without a tank and have to plumb it all back up
