If you are only wiping sills and frames as against glass then surely all you need is a decent quality, large size micro fibre cloth? And not that many at that.
Whether it is the close knit weave or the more....er, fluffy type  :-[ you can wring them out easily until they are almost dry...yeah ok, damp then!
Actually you can so almost the same with good old scrim.
You just don't need bucket loads of the bloody things.
One that stays wet and is wronged out as you go along, another to wipe over what you have mopped down with the damp one and if you use more than three a day then you just are not trying hard enough!

Different if you are working trad at cleaning windows then you will always need a clean cloth be it scrim or micro fibre for work on glass and unless you are talking about washing and cleaning really pig pen mingling work, then you should only need 3 or 4 cloths a day tops.

Hi Simon, I think that is a ridiculous statement to make on an open forum especially when it is not through, I have been promoting microfiber technology since 1998 and i know from experience which microfibers are best for cleaning glass and mirrors, furthermore i would not be stupid enough to import 1000s of these high performance cloths from one of the worlds foremost producers of microfiber, why would i waste my time recommending them on here if i thought they were useless, maybe you might be kind enough Simon to let me know how you used them, then i can let you know how to use them properly to get your required results and then you might be kind enough to come back on here and retract your ridiculous statement.

I've been cleaning windows for 15 years, so I think I know what I'm talking about don't you?!

I'm afraid to say they are rubbish, I tried them for detailing, no good, they don't absorb the water they just wipe the water around. I've tried them on leaded lights same thing happens & they leave lint on the glass. Tried them on sills & frames same thing happens there too. They just don't absorb the water like fish scales.

Sorry Tadgh the fact is they are no good for window cleaning.

Hi Simon, now i know you are bluffing here, you said they leave lint behind thats not true, they can absorb seven times their weight in moisture so thats another false statement you have made, by the way Simon when did you purchase them and how many did you buy, as i have said we sell 1000s of these cloths but i cant ever remember selling any to you Simon, I will be first to put up my hand and apologise if you have but can you remind me when you made your purchase of little waffle glass cloths.

Tadgh,

I have no reason to lie, what I'm saying is fact.

You kindly sent me some samples!

Check through my previous posts and there's your proof!

You also kindly sent me a bottle cleaner and some glass sponges.

Like I have said I have no reason to lie, the fish scales are by far so much better as an all round window cleaning cloth!

Hi Simon, Ok we sent you some samples thats fair enough, I have no problem Simon with you saying that the fish scale are better, but to come on here and make a statement that our little waffle glass cloths are crap i think is very unfair indeed, you could of just said that you tried the three types and you found the fish scale to be best, i would have no problem with that, i could tell you about the many clients we have who swear by the cloths but i do not like to boast like some people. but again i think you should retract your ridiculous statement in saying that our glass cloths are crap.

Can't tell the fella off for his opinion Tadgh.
His opinion is his opinion and he's entitled to it. No matter who agrees/disagrees.
Leave him be.
