WINDOW CLEANERS CAN YOU HELP ME OUT
« on: March 15, 2006, 07:10:11 pm »
Hi everyone I just found this website a day ago it's great! I am a deaf 24 year old from hampton middlesex.  I have been doing window cleaning for a year now. I have been reading a of lot stuff about what has been said about W/F/P. I have never seen anyone use W/F/P or seen a W/F/P. Is it that good? and easy to use? because I am fussy about which houses I do as I don't like going up the ladder too high as I don't feel secure. If I get a W/F/P will I ever need to use my ladder again and will the W/F/P work on tall buildings e.g schools or all types of  buildings. And Oh I got a nice Polo car will it fit in my car? and how much is the W/F/P?

Hi Dave welcome to the forum.

Water fed pole does a great job, and you can reach up to 60ft.

There are places were wfp cannot be used such as over flat roofs sometimes.
I have been using it 2 1/2 yrs now and was a very good move.

But you still need to squeegee door ways and inside windows.

As for a polo you can get a small trolly system that would fit no problem.

Do you use sign langage as my sister in law teaches BSL.

Regards Roy

Thanks Roy.

I will be definitely thinking about getting W/F/P. All I have got to do now is to find out how much it will cost me. But if it means it will help me to get my work done quicker and have my  feet on the ground it would be definitely worth it.

Yes I can do sign langage but speak as well. Your sister's sign langage is probably better than mine if she does BSL. My sign langage is street sign langage [similar to cockney for e.g] where your sister's  BSL  is proper sign langage. :D

hi david
ref wfp, yes it's far better for safety (no more ladders) it will do the job well after pratice, as for the pole fitting in car use a pole carrier on a roof rack.
go wfp you won't regret it.

Much to everyones's amazement :o (as I don't rate wfp), I would suggest it in your case.

If I'm right in saying, loss of hearing affects your balance.
Not good going up high if that's the case.... :-\

DavidX - Hello!

A trolley system in a POLO will limit you as you will not be able to carry much water (I can carry about 200 litres in my Honda estate car (mondeo size)). But you can use it to do tops and blade bottoms. You can also add a trailer as you expand.

BTW Mrs Malc G uses sign-language for hearing-impaired children at a local primary school HIRB unit (Hearing Impaired Resource Base) and is going through BSL too. How do you communicate with your customers?
It's a game of three halves!
