Has anybody tried different backpacks? If so what is the best one?

I too would like to know the answer to this question.

i have a matabi backpack for when i have access problems with a hose.

Has anybody had the chance to compare the matabi and shureflo backpacks back to back. 

Ease of use, longevity of battery use. price. spares, weight.

Are all of interest to me, as i might have to buy 4 of them soon.

Will be good to hear the pro's and con's of both as i am about to buy one for my lad to do backs while i do fronts.

I like the looks of the matabi backpack just because it has a hanle on top where as the sureflow backpack does not.

We won't be using it on our back but carry it put it down and clean.
To risky that much weight on your back and can see a lot of people with back problems in years to come because they used a 18ltr backpack on there back

My Mrs is using the Shurflo. She's got it on a shopping trolley frame, it's made of aluminium and weighs next to nothing. She has 20ft of 6mm I/D hose between backpack and pole, this cuts down on time spent moving it. If you have to carry it up steps, the extra weight of the trolley isn't noticable.
We havn't tried any other make, so can't help you on that one. Dai

Have you a link?  The only Matabi backpack I can find is hand-pumped.

A good handle would be excellent, but I've removed the backpack strapping from the shurflo and attached a strap-handle through the attachment 'doobries' that fitted the backpack.

Works for me!

Like Dai, I haven't tried any other sort of backpack, but I do know the Shurflo is excellent value for money and is extremely versitile.

If you haven't got thousands of pounds to invest in a 'pro-system', a Shurflo is a brilliant way to start.

Paul,

You won't go far wrong with a Shurflo backpack.

Even when I go van-mounted, which I hope to do by next year, I'm sure I'll still use it on many; if not most of my jobs.

Its just for my lad to do the back as i have my trolley anyway for the fronts.

Not really sure yet whether a back pack or just get another omnitrolley.

But i think the backpack would probably be quicker grab and go.

Cheers guys but apparently there's 2 types of Shurflo. One is designed for the American market and the other Europe.
European one needs no mods, includes hozelock type connector and has a sieve included for when filling, USA version no sieve and needs different charger? European one has 'CE' on end of model number too! Correct me if im wrong anyone.
Ive been doing some research over past few days, hopes this helps anybody who is undecided. Ive just ordered one of 'CE' ones.

Hi,

gulp! have just checked mine & found that the battery charger is I presume American. It has 2 thin stainless steel prongs instead of our 3 pin plug system.

What can I do?  get an adapter I presume! or a UK charger.

What have the other guys done who have brought the same backpack?

Hi Kev...Yeh just buy an adapter mate. About £15 i think i paid on ebay. I got my shurflo from ebay too. I think i saved "about" £70 gettin it from the U.S. Never had any real probs with it though. I think next time i buy one i may see how much they want for 2 of them. It must work out loads cheaper per unit doing it that way. (Not that you asked)

get an american 2 pin travel adapter from tescos, about £4

You can plug tha charger in either of the two holes and it will still work.
