I dont know the answer but i would guess 55kg .
Weight is likely to be less important with machines with top loading wheels ... when else will you be lifting them  , none of the full size machines are going to go up a narrow stairs easily especially the long horizontal ones  so it dont matter if they are 40kg or 55kg  imo .

I dont  want one john, I just wanted to compare the weight, I am in the process of needing a couple of new machines but I will probably go for the altec, I just wanted to compare the weight

I *think* about 48 kilos, I have hauled it upstairs on occasions. The big wheels help. Think the Alltecs weigh a bit more because of the fibreglass body.

Cleansmart offer the 'Airflex Pro Custom Made' (the Storm is a top spec Pro) - so you can choose the spec you need. If weight is an issue, you could consider that in the build.

At least the weight should be at the back  , i observed my local cleaning doctor put a new advance into his van with very little effort , just tilted back a lifted , the heated version would be a few kgs more alright .. but very convenient I'd say .

Stuart, I've got a Storm, not quite sure how much they weigh but i would put it around the 55KG and although initially i thought there is no way i'm doing flats with this when i first got it, i now regularly clean 1st and 2nd floor flats, quite easy to pull up stairs on its large rear wheels, i found my previous Scorpion although lighter and a great machine was more difficult to get up stairs due to smaller wheels and long wheel base.  The water pump on the Storm is towards the front of the machine and it does have the tendency to pull forward however you soon become accustomed to this. I'm 46 years old 6 foot tall and around 13 stone and would not class my self as muscular or particularly strong, so if i can do it then any averagely built bloke should have no problems.  On top of all that the Storm is a fantastic machine, had mine for 20 months now, no problems.

If you want a really powerful portable which is really easy to lift and take up stairs get an Altec Express
The only comprise is the capacity of the smaller tanks

I am looking at the Evolution!  It seems to tick all the right boxes about fromhaving a smallish recovery tank, and I have bought from altec and there products for many years!
