Time to get the thermals ready?
« on: October 12, 2013, 03:06:23 pm »
Is it time to get ready for the cold or just a way of selling newspapers like every other year?

The Met Office promised a BBQ Summer a couple of years back - it rained and was cold for most of the Summer.
The Daily Mail missed the wettest Spring on record and predicted that the damp conditions would last until at least September - this was back in May.
The Daily Express, like the Mail loves doom and gloom and as for the Met Office, well they often get the weather completely wrong in Exeter - when all they'd have to do is look out of the window !

Long Term prediction relies on trends and as we are an island nation with many, many variables then nothing over a week is usually any good.
I've lost faith.
