I contacted gardiners yesterday about fitting an aquadapter to my slx pole, and they said they didnt recommend using it on any of there poles, as it puts far too much strain on the top of the pole.

Yes, all our slx top clamps split while using aquadaptors - I thought it might be a fault but Alex stated that the AD Is too heavy and they don't recommend their use.

The insert on the AD need to be the long version 40mm of shaft to hep offset the strain but as we never remove the AD From the pole and use the AD quick release adaptor when using carbon goose necks I have just gone back to bonding the Ali insert direct into the pole like previous slx versions

Hi,
We do a long shaft stem designed for gardiner poles to stop this £2.95.

30gr lighter than gardiner threaded insert!

The problem is with the fact that the clamps are to short 20mm or about.
That is not long enough for glueing, but if they make clamps longer then collapsed  pole length is longer.
Not sure why they use glue, be better with one allen key bolt, clamp comes loose or wears out, just undo and put new clamp on.
At the end of the day all glue with vigorous movement will break down eventually.

I to have found aquadaptor puts pressure on the top of my SLX and got rid a few months ago due to weight when working at an angle.I feel Alex does, being the gentlemen he is, not publicly say anything about other third party products but, privately would  not be happy with it, because it could appear as if the pole is of lessor quality.I am sure Mr Fox I guess would feel the same.

A week or so ago I bought on E bay a thing called Top Tap. This to me was not the answer to  aquadaptor as it does  not controller the flow from the ground while the pole was extended, but has allowed me to close the water when I drop the pole and open the top tap when I extend the pole. I have received this tap and have fitted to my pole its seams to work a treat. But has with seen them again. This little tap if it lives up to the day to day work of our job will offer a better result to the problem of water wasting. As mosy of my rounds are not to close to my home it costs me fuel money which defeats the object of saving water.

I have used pretty much every type of AD on my extreme poles and never had any issues.

In Saying that i believe in the extreme manual it states no brush should weigh more than 285G in use with the extreme pole.

FYI i have ditched the AD as although its a great product, unless you really really really need to save water i just disconnect microbore to pole hose fitting which is pretty much always near my feet. (thats if i need to stop the water)

I found fitting a tap at the brush end years ago was the best option.

Hi smithie,
Aqua-dapter does not affect twist pressure on a pole, but it does put more leverage on the pole and i agree with Alex why he doesn't like people using it on his poles.
Thats why i designed long stem insert to overcome this, and it works.

I hear your defence but the pressure will always be at the point were that a/d stops in the pole. You would have to have a shaft as long as the first section or make it a flexible as the pole material to avoid this effect. Its only my opinion but do believe its prevalent to the flex of the pole.. Most w/c would not really care so dont get too excited Steve. Its not meant as a bad reflection on you or your product. Focus on the good words, try focusing on  the good part "its fantastic". No product is perfect that why there is a  mark1,M 2 ,M 2,m3 and xl. I have full confidence this product need will challenge its designer and A/d will come out tops for it. ;) ;) ;)
