8mm ID to 6mm ID
« on: September 20, 2013, 12:33:50 pm »
As the title says I'm thinking of changing to a smaller inner diameter hose...

Obviously I'll have to up the flow setting but is there anything else I might need to bear in mind?

Thanks.
Paul

Tbh Paul do t think there's to much difference as I use 8mm but change to 6mm in winter as the thermo hose is 6mm which I use for the hot wash

I got sent 6mm instead of 8mm by mistake and decided to keep it.
Glad I did, when I see other poley lads about it looks like they're using garden hose compared!!
Much lighter too if you have to lift reels about.

We changed from 8 to 6 mm about 8 months ago and for us it was a great move, I only had to up the flow rate from 64 to 70. But the benefits of a light hose are unbelievable, easier to pull out and miles better winding in and the hose seems to slip around corners and car tyres better too

I have a 6mm id hose and at the top of the pole is 4mm id this has no effect on the flow s its still 100 psi in the hose. All that will change is the flow rate.Should be lighter on the pump but I don`t see any difference.

Cheers chaps, sounds like a winner switching over to Thermobore & like I don't need to bother with the extra weight, hassle & expense of Thermobore+...
now just need Gardiners to get Thermobore back in stock...  :D
