You won't regret changing over.

The problems you get in the first few weeks soon pass and you will think you made a big mistake.
But you need to just stick with it and everything will turn out great.

There is no way i would go back to ladders full time now.
I have some i still do by ladders but only because its quicker or easier.
All new customers are WFP or i don't do them.

Just a warning to brownscleaners.

While you are in the first 3 month of wfp swapover you are in a vulnerable stage as far as employees are concerned.

Any 1 of them can go round your customers with a ladder and say do you want it doing the old way.

Some customers can say yes, because they havent been properly convinced of wfp yet.

Try not to fall out or sack an employee while you are in this vulnerable stage.

It happend to me and cost me dearly.

1 employee was knicking money so i sacked him.

At the same time he phoned the police and said i had threatend him, so i couldnt go near him. i didnt hav a clue where he was working till he had cleand and the customer cancelled.

Employees know all your work and will exploit a weakness if they see it.

Its the old people who are resistant to change mostly. after 3 months there normaly ok. especially when they see how clean there frames are.

If your commercial this wont affect you.

Hope it goes well for you.

Customers will not be convinced by wfp for a few months like mark said.

I started wfp on the 3rd of Jan 06.I have lost 15 customers in that time loseing £145.00, but Only 2 of those have been cos they did not want wfp. They both said I could clean it Trad and carry on. I said its Wfp or get yourself another w/c. So those 2 x customers are looking for another w/c.

The rest I have lost  mainly because of putting up my prices 20%.

On the plus side I have taken on 36 new customers with an income of £435.00.

I did a customer on Monday who I fully expected to loose because she does not like wfp, or the mess it makes, wet floors & walls. I do her top windows and downstairs bay window. As a compromise I offered to clean her bay Trad, but upstairs would only be done wfp.To my suprise she said she would prefer me to clean the bay with wfp. She must now be getting used to haveing the frames cleaned for free and despite not likeing the mess she knows its worthwhile. As the temp starts to get warmmer and the glass dries faster I think all my customers will be hooked on wfp. The only danger then is another wfp cleaner undercutting me, But if they are no good with the system I could be safe.

Stick to your guns lad and dont get depressed about it. You can allways get more work but remmber the golden rule, You are in charge of your buisness not the customer.

Nel.

bad weather yesterday so i was out doing leaflets, bumped int 2 lads wfp cleaning 3 storey house and stopped to chat, asked how long they had been doing this way, 2 years the lad says and still get lots of complaints. Now i have not used mine yet but i do know to clean frames first then glass, asked the lad if he did this "oh no he said we don't do frames", made me smile obviously never heard of cleanitup and just as with trad some cleaners are crap no matter what equiptment they have thats how they stay and good luck to them as means me being fussy can charge more
cheers all simb0

refer to topic regardng death of window cleaner....You have make a wise move..
It takes time to get the hang of WFP but as you get better at it your confidence grows and this reflects in how you sell it to your customers..

I,ve used WFP for about 4 years now maily domestic I now expain that it works and if they have any problems ring and I will return or refund a percentage for the hassle, in four years about two problems and neither want a refund or redoing (by telling them there may be a prob in the first couple of cleans seams to stop them looking for problems).
But if they ask me to do it the "proper way" I say NO sorry again to date no losses.

any way better to loose a couple of customers rather than my life..

The secret is not doing as you like but liking what you do
