Hi Mark
In simple terms ,make sure the carpet is well fixed, use a medium ph cleaner ,do not over wet and make sure you dry it with air movers if possible and you will not go far wrong
                                    Good luck
                                            Mark

I did some Axminster that was 33 years old  :o
She said she paid £3,000 back then, it was on 3 flights of stairs and was slightly worn in places. I used m-power agitated the extracted at 200 came up nice and land lady happy  ;)
