what's the best height for 1st floor houses

I am looking a getting a new ladders i am going to get the normal ladders so i can use a stand of ect what is the average height needed to reach the window sill of most 1st floor houses ??? ???

i think 3.5m should do you, i've got 4m at the mo and think for some of my work they are too big so wanta get some 3.5m soon

Mine are 3.5 and they are perfect as not too heavy

hi when you both say 3.5 is that closed or open as i was looking at getting a tripple 2m ladder as it fit on my car and i am able to open the boot fully

It's 3.5m closed they mean mate. On most I do, 1 3.5m section gets you up there enough to clean them. But, I tend to go up 1 stile with my second 3.5m section to get just under the cill. However, I find that a double 3.5m ladder is a pain to carry around however, especially over the fences at the back. It's quite heavy. So, I tend to split em apart & use just the 1 3.5m section for most houses.   

Don't get a triple 2m though. A double 3m or pref 3.5m is the best option.  You'll always find a double is alot better to work with than 3.
