Thanks for that - the ones I googled were around £900  :o

They're probably the ones that hold 100m of 1' hose.
Mine holds 130m(ish) of 1/2'

Just got back in from a gutter clean - the reel is spinning so fast it's throwing coils of thermobore everywhere  ::)roll

Going to have to make a brake now .

If you have left the rods long enough, you can undo the nuts until the reel starts pressing agains the reel frame, the friction between the 2 will slow it down.

Mine did this when I first did mine so I have to redo it with longer rods.

mile one of these type petal reals and i just wrap a bungee chord really tight round the centre to stop it coming apart, im actually going to try one of the gardiner ones as these are really cheap and look ok, my brother uses them and has never had a problem

i use a claber premium lightweight metal reel from gardiners.2 years old now and still going strong.i use cold water though.i think it was about £40.money well spent.although i should order a spare one for when this one breaks.
price higher/work harder!
