Birmingham Airport has a flood and pollution control system which
comprises:
polluted water holding tanks,
storm attenuation tanks and drains,
valve chambers,
pumping stations,
oil interceptors,
runway and taxi slot drains.
Many of the tanks will require confined spaces entry and most of the
facilities are located in an active airside environment.
The system has a mix of bespoke / proprietary equipment as well as
standard mechanical and electrical equipment and software.
The Airport is seeking to appoint a single service provider to clean and
maintain the system at programmed intervals, undertake repairs when
necessary and to maintain documentation and maintenance schedules.
As a separate lot, within the terminal buildings at the Airport, there is
a requirement for CCTV surveys of the drainage system to be undertaken and
for blocked drains to be cleared as required.
