Not really a question of profit, more of a question of tax. Speak to your accountant. We are going Ltd mainly so I can give some shares to my most loyal workers

No Steve don't do it !!! ,

keep all the shares for yourself , giving share's out could/will  cause you problems at a latter date , for example if you want to sell the business, or find other investors etc

Give your loyal employees a bonus instead , I bet they would rather have the cash than shares.

If you really are going to give shares away do not give any more that 10% in total away, and remember that its possible that you may need all your shareholders signatures on some legal paperwork in the future, what if they have left or you fall out with them or they die , and you want to buy the shares back ?  etc etc etc
This is the season for fine wine, and drunken friends, enjoy this moment, for this moment is your life.
