Review of WCW backpack & Phoenix pole
« on: August 02, 2013, 12:59:13 am »
Well I`ve had these for some months now. The pole is invaluable for 1st & 2nd floor windows & has enabled me to gain work that I couldn`t undertake before. It`s easy to put up & take down with good rigidity at 1st floor, 2nd floor rigidity is obviously less but still very controllable.
For me the weight of the pole is very light even at full reach & should be well within the capabilities of most.
The only criticism is the pipe can get in the way at times but you can just have it pushed in at the top instead of through the centre which holds it perfectly well.
The backpack is a perfect start up product & to be honest I don`t see the point of going over to  van mount for a long time & even then I`d keep the backpack for difficult to access jobs.
Great battery life, I`ve ran it for four days. No real problems other than battery wire came lose but that was after I dropped it off my shoulder,  height of about six foot.
If you are thinking of going over to wfp then I can highly recommend this combination.

Glad to hear things are going well for you Gerald. Good review.
When your profits start to increase with the amount of customers you gain, you may find it worthwhile going to a van mount system. It will save you time and hassle on those awkward first cleans. You could then drop the wagtail and just blast it with the wfp   ;D
All the best.

My son and I have used the WCW backpacks with Gardiner CLX18 for the last 3 years... we built our business with them and I can't speak highly enough of these entry level products.

I bought a Pure Freedom trolley a couple of weeks ago, which I'm still getting to grips with. 5 x the price of the backpack but not seeing 5 x the benefit at this stage... but I can see the potential.

We already have a Gardiner SLX35, which we use exclusively for our high reach stuff. I'm really looking forward to upgrading the CLX18s to Xtreme 25s as soon as I can justify the spend.

I did intend to do a full video product review of the WCW backback but I can't find my "getroundtoit"...

It is vital you find your roundtoit as soon as possible. I lost mine some years ago & couldn`t work until I found it again. I now keep a spare one at all times incase my main roundtoit is lost again or, God forbid, it should break.
Maybe there is a business opportunity to market roundtoits to the window cleaning trade, any wouldbe investers please contact me to discuss possible terms of commission.
Then again the people who will contact me about this will already have a roundtoit. Damn, another idea shot down in flames.
