How much?
« on: July 25, 2013, 06:02:27 pm »
Been subbed some work through a large cleaning company consisting of 5 x 5 bed detached houses, none with conservatories, windows cleaned inside and out.
They are all brand new and empty, need cleaning before owners move in, but not builders cleans.
The company need them doing immediately, and ive had to postpone other work to accomodate them. No access issues, and the windows themselves are not too tricky, not leaded etc.
i'd put a photo up but my cameras jiggered.
What to charge for this? Or should i go by an hourly rate? i'll be using wfp on the outsides.
Based in West Yorks, grateful for any advice

Not builders cleans - so if the builders clean has already been done then this is a repeat clean.

So £200 in about 5 hours - seems ok to me. I would be more concerned as to whether I trusted the company to pay me - how did they contact me etc.
It's a game of three halves!

200 in five hours, yeah ok, but these are one offs and he would have to move other regular work, so more like 400

I realise there must be some financial consideration for moving work around but a bit of realism is warranted as it may be caught up possibly by working a Saturday?  I suppose that the 5 hours work could be priced as a full day to compensate but with no furniture etc inside, obstructions should be minimal.

I would want an email with a confirmation and a NAME of the person who pays as well insisting on immediate payment when job done or 3 days max

If the builders cleaned them then I would still class them as needing a builders clean.
You could still get blamed for scratches and so on.
And wait to you see how many sticker marks come up as soon as the water hits the glass.
Got stung on one like this myself spend most of the day removing sticker glue that wasn't
visible until I started to clean.
