Who else has a pheonix pro22
« on: July 17, 2013, 09:53:38 pm »
I have in the last few weeks bought a 22ft pheonix pro and a 22ft clx
The pro seems so much more stiff and better quality over the clx. Anybody else agree??. My main pole is the slx25 which i cant fault and is in a total different leagur to the 2 poles mentioned but i did have better expectations for the clx if im honest! Still both clx and pro are good poles just the pheonix pro has the lead for me out of the 2 budget poles even thiugh it has a higher cost without a brush.

Hi mick what is the price difference ? The brush has to account for another £30
So I don't think you can expect the quality to be the same.

I no longer buy any budget poles as they don't last as long as c/ f - bend more - and are heavier

Everyone now uses full carbon fibre with clx poles as spares

CLX22 £110 inc brush and angle adapter = £110

Phoenix Pro £129.95 + say £25/£30ish for basic brush and angle adapter = £155/160

SLX22 - full carbon - £188 inc brush and angle adapter = £188

Full carbon for an extra £30ish - no brainer -

Or cheap and cheerful for £110 ready to work - no brainer.

I'd expect the Pro to be better than the CLX and the SLX better than the Pro.

Mind you I've never owned a CLX or  Phoenix so there you go ...

I've posted a little bit in haste so feel free to point out all the errors!

You exactly right there though gold but the way people big gardiner poles up on here id have expected it to be better if  honest, I did have higher hopes for the clx with it  being 50/50 like the pheonix! The pheonix pro22 is comparable to the slx over the clx for quality as its nearly as stiff with hardly any bend at full stretch.
Clx is defo good as a spare  but in future its either the pheonix pro or slx for staff and me. My old fibreglass brodex was as whipy as the clx i just bought.

I have not got a Phoenix pole but what tempts me to try one in future is I like the look of the clamps. Think they are easy and fast to operate.

Am I reading Gardiners website wrong? It says £110 ex vat inclusive of brush.

I have the pro 22, I must have got one of the first ones because I had 2 clamps crack on me in 1 week.  But they sent me replacements for free since it was only 6 weeks old.

I love the pole,  its lighter and stronger than my other poles but they are fiber glass.

I am going to get the X version  (full carbon ) pole next.
