Spitfire 4.0 Refurb - Nearly Completed
« on: July 23, 2013, 10:56:10 pm »
Here is some pics of my latest project, refurb of Hydramaster Spitfire 4.0 and new install into a Renault Trafic.

All has been done by myself in the garden, complete strip down and all truckmount sprayed with U-Pol Raptor “very similar to speed liner” in the hottest pink i could get. Van insulated floor, sides & roof, ply lined and sealed with polyurethane sealant and again sprayed with U-Pol raptor but in blue “company logo is blue & pink”

Spitfire has been completely stripped although a couple of hours tomorrow and will be complete. Fresh, Waste & fuel tanks Installed along with hose reel and live feed from van battery for T.Mount. All hoses on machine will be colour coded along with matching exhaust wrap. A few modifications and last step chemical injection to be completed at later date.

Completed pics to follow sorry but pics in no particular order.

Looks great Nick, it must be very satisfying.

I would enjoy that sort of project.

I have the same machine, mine must be.. 15 years old? Mine is in great condition as the the one previous owner and myself have looked after it, I really cant see how people let it get into the state your was in the 'before' pic (not saying that was you.)

Why pink, I quite like the red, although I think in blue it may look good too.

Thanks Craig, I bought the machine in that condition a year ago and have only just got round to tarting it up. Our company logo is blue an pink! So thought it would look good and be a bit of a talking point!

Will the water tank have the company sticker on? or you could get the Hyrdamaster sticker.

I see, it matches in with your branding, Does anyone do coloured hoses in the UK? I know realcleaners.com do but that would be costly posted from the US!

I like the stippled effect, I see you even put a new waste shut off tap?

See that clear pipe for the water level, I bought a load of that and change mine once a year as it goes green and i cant see the level, Just needs warming up to fit. looks like you did that too.

Funny you picked up on the water level sight tube its probably the only hose I haven’t replaced just sprayed some tfr in it and came up like new. Lost of new parts on it from the waste valve to gauges, lights, heat exchanger all hoses, knuckle valve, modified the exhaust outlet, better sound defining around blower silencer & exchanger new solenoid valves, engine is only 2 years old, blower in mint condition. Like a new machine now, very happy with result and a fair bit quieter running.

That looks fantastic!

John gotts had a Boxxer done in pink like that I'm pretty sure it was for his wife to clean carpets with he was angling the marketing on the female customer buying from a lady cleaner and was pushing the Barbie pink a great marketing idea.

Craig, I’ve added sound deadening mats and wrapped then around blower silencer and blower heat exchanger ave also added mats to the internal area that houses the blower silencer & heat exchanger! Something similar to this

Also making sure pump belt is tight and all is aligned properly, the above has made a massive difference also plan to put exhaust through which again should make a small improvement on the noise.
