When do you mix your prespray?
« on: June 03, 2013, 11:13:25 pm »
I'm still new but always mix my prespray on the job, so obviously take, chem, jug, spoon etc in. I was wondering if I could mix my prespray at home prior to the days jobs, would it be ok?? Generally use Powerburst or SPM.

I prefer mine hot and fresh. So mix accordingly. How do you know what you will need from one job to next?

Fresh at every job.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Mix fresh on site with warm water.

To save the faff with measuring jugs, funnels, potential drips & spills etc I have a box full of 100ml bottles prefilled with concentrates to add to the warm water in the sprayer.

I asked the same question to a chemist who worked for ICI about pre mixing without going into it his basic answer was, it is already water based why would it be better fresh.
I am not talking about the oxy type boosters.

I am only saying what I was told.

I do the same, as I mix products in the car detailing I would be throwing more out  I keep for the next day, week, if I mix say a 5 ltr mix of wheel cleaner  that could  last me poss 2 weeks.until runs out as it is all water based.

Its not the freshness as such (unless its an enzymatic or oxi boosted)

Its the temperature.

So please forgive my inability to see why mixing every time you require a solution you mix with hot/warm water,

Kevin, are you infact saying you mix every time you come to pre spray a room, or do you mix once at the job? because by the time you come to prespray the last room on the job the mix would be cold !!!!  well thats my opinion and i doubt if any c/c on here if they are honest could tell if  the same carpet was sprayed with a hot mix and a mix that has gone cold ::)roll or perhaps the pacebo effect cpmes into play  ;)
now be honest if you didnt know which half had been sprayed with hot , you wouldnt have a clue by looking at the finished results.

I mix up two sprayers when at home at night, one for pure clean one power burst

When their used up I fill up again so nearly all my presprays are put down cold :o

Never had a issue in 20 odd years

Some times in slower months the prespray will sit there for days before I use them

Did you read all my posts I would use stuff days old as I do when mixing my auto chem. As I was told by a chemist it is already been mixed with water anyway. If a product says mix hot I would mix hot if it goes cold in the meantime I would still use.
I only do 1 mix a day as I only do 1 job a day.
