Gardiner brush confusion ??
« on: July 04, 2013, 11:08:27 am »
Hi all , as above , im a little confused over my 2 superlite DT mixed bristle brushes, they are both black and white and bought at different times .
One of them appears to have thinner white bristles than the other , this one was purchased first.
The other seems to have the thicker bristles much the same as the red ones on the stiff version of the superlite, this brush was bought the latest .
I know that a call to Alex would be the way to go , but i dont want to bother them with a call .
So does anybody know if the specs have changed on these brushes ?
I only ask as i want to order a new one and i feel that the first brush i got has far outclassed the other ,  even though it is older its still like new ??

Any answers please ?

Hi Rich

I will explain.

The first brush you have is the original Medium Mixed and is the same as the current specification with thinner/softer outer bristles.

The other brush that you bought secondly was a version that we tried out for a while and does have slightly thicker outer bristles. This did not prove as popular so we switched back to the original thinner outer bristles version.

If you were to buy any of our current medium mixed brushes (Super-Lite DT, Xtreme, Sill, 45cm) they would all have the same bristles as your preferred original brush.

Sorry Alex , i confused myself with the explanation, i will try again !

Brush 1 , this is the one you yourself sold me with a clx 27 , 14 months ago , it has the thicker
bristles and has outclassed the other brush.

Brush 2 , this was bought about 6 months later i think , it has the thinner bristles and has
not done very well compared to the  other brush

Hope this is clearer , if so what bristles are on the current brushes ?

Sorry to be a PITA , i just want to know before ordering and not getting the wrong brush .
Also , am i right in saying that the thicker white bristle i have is the same as the red stiff bristle ?

This is quite different then!

Your 1st brush is actually the second version and is the one that has been replaced.

Your 2nd brush is the current version and is the most popular brush we sell.

It may be that you use hot water in which case this is why you prefer your first brush as it is most suitable for hot water.

The good news is that the Super-Lite Dual-Trim Stiff ( http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/the-super-lite-brush-dual-trim-stiff-bristles.html ) has exactly the same outer bristles as the brush that you prefer (your first brush). The inner bristles are slightly stiffer though.
