smeary connie roof
« on: June 04, 2013, 09:01:34 pm »
Did a regular custies connie roof today.

Done before no probs.

Never that dirty so £20.

Used magica today and rinsed well with custies garden hose.
Thought it looked really good

Must admit as TAP water maybe should have sqeegeed off but didn't.

Is that my mistake?
Done that before.

All i can do is go and see and redo with just pure water.
Told custie i'd be back thursday friday morning.

Is that cheeky.
Had already organised my day.

Bit paniced now hope magica hasn't dried and caused stains but custie said smeary?

Is it glass? I did one the other day (first clean) and two panels could be described as "looking smeary" but just two panels which set my mind at ease a bit. I used G101. It never dried to my knowledge. I asked the customer if some of her panels were blown and she said not.

Just spoke to custie.

Didn't really say much more than smeary.

Will go over it again with just pure.

Just worried as was hot day and was using detergent.

Not alot of Magica just few squirts on brush it was a hot day but didn't let anything dry on the glass.

Cleaned custies connie roof a few times now and no probs before as she said. (but pure water only before)

What do i do if detergant has stained glass.  :'(

Thanks lee.

Have a funny feeling about the one I did the other day. I would not normally use g101 on glass roofs but frame was really, really bad.

Custie thinks the bird poo on glass and diluted and made panels smeary haven't admitted using detergant and the fact it's always been alright before.

It's about the 6th time i've cleaned custies roof.

Bit worried now. ::)roll

Lee -

Do you know if its self cleaning glass ?  Hopefully not as certain chemicals can damage the surface - we never use anything but pure on glass and squeegee off

I think the fact you used tap water has just left a residue on the glass like spotting on windows

Give it a good scrub with pure and see if it comes up better

Hi  Darren going there in about an hour; gonna do as you say.

(Don't think self cleaning grey tint not
Blue or am i mistaken?)

Sueegee off?
Darren do you use this on self cleaning glass
then and if so do you apply neat to brush or mix some
Up in a bucket and dab brush in; what ratio is mix.

so if custie has self cleaning glass and dirty weathered upvc
Roof struts and finials this must pose a real problem.

What do these upvc connie cleaning companies do use con roof ladders to spot clean the Roof upvc with say cif very carefully not getting it on the glass then?

Thanks lee.

Thanks Daz.

Here now relieved.

Think its as you said rinsed with tap water and didn't blade off.

back to windos  cleaning school.

Defo not using chemicals on clear glass roofs though.

Bum went big time as worried damaged polymer coating.

Customer is very fussy and really looks 90% good.

Happy to do properly this time ;D

Thanks for replies guys.

G 101 has got a bleach in it.I cleaned some garage doors and the g101 made white markes on the wood vanish  finish. I have also had that on painted doors.

I used it because the UPVC was really bad and very hard to access. I haven't had a call back on mine so fingers crossed.

D'oh

When I said squeegee off. I didn't mean the soap! I should have said blade off
Sorry for the confusion
