For those who employ www.elas.uk.com
« on: May 23, 2013, 07:59:46 pm »
Hello,

I've recently had a bit of behind the scenes trouble with 2 employees, 1 of which has taken me to an employment tribunal,

I'm a very nice and fair guy and was obviously in the right, so I decided to stand up and fight the accusations against me.

I took on the services of ELAS who have been very professional and helped me out beyond belief to make this problem go away.

Their website as above is www.elas.uk.com,  they're specialists in both employment law and H+S and I would highly recommend them to other employers.

We will now be working alongside them for the forseeable future to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Ill say this without being too harsh to employed window cleaners,

Most decent people who are involved in the window cleaning trade have their own businesses.

This doesn't apply to all cases as I've got a few decent lads who work for me, and I've worked alongside other companies who've also got very decent staff.

What it does mean though is that if you're looking to employ a person as a window cleaner, be prepared to come across some of the most underhanded, decieving, unreliable etc people that you will ever meet who once employed seem to know everything about employment law and will do anything to try and screw you into the ground if they believe that you've crossed them,

Thanks to companies like ELAS, employers like myself who've built up their businesses from scratch have now got a chance to fight back legally.

Of the 6 guys who've been WC employees of mine...

2 have threatened me after they left

2 have walked out without notice

1 went after giving notice but not working his full notice

2 did not return their £160+ worth of uniforms

1 has kept the van keys to try to blackmail me

it's a minefield employing WCs.  im learning loads of valuable lessons off them about recruitment and managing...  but they can sometimes do your head in  :P

Yes Richard,

They're totally shocking,

The next step is an employment tribunal letter dropping on you're door mat,

Its all part of the game apparently and you do get a bit of that when employing.

Thats like the girl hitch-hiking, alone. When she gets picked up she pulls an apple and a knife out of her bag and starts to peel the apple prior to eating it.

The two that walked out without notice are the ones who were making Richard £400 a day profit, thats after all expenses  ;D

Dave Willis is using their services now http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=170704.msg1441834#msg1441834

With regards to the text in red, who gives a poope if your doing £400 a day profit from two guys. They could shat on my face for that  kind of money. Every day.
