fragile patio cleaning
« on: May 14, 2013, 08:36:03 pm »
Hi All, I have a customer who wants her gutters, facia and driveway cleaning, no problem I can do that  :) but she also wants her patio done. It's "very fragile" and needs a delicate clean, not power washing.
What method would you use? It is a light coloured (or should be) soft stone.
Thanks for any advice, Tom.

I would still use my pressure washer, just turn the revs down. It cant be that fragile to not be able to clean it. or  ???

I saw a video a while back where someone on here was cleaning a church or similar
Building with something so gentle it takes the print off newspaper without damaging the paper? I don't want to invest in that kind of kit but it's clever..

Stonhealths Doff is the machine ...Why do you consider the patio delicate? Do you have pics?

I had exactly the same request just the other week, she was adamant that she didn't want a jet wash going on it..... my answer.....
Hypo brushed on, left for 15 - 20 mins, then rinse off with hose pipe..... superb... kerching!

Took a peek today and it is quite a soft, fabricated stone. When I rubbed it with my finger quite a bit of chalky dust came off. I think I will go the hypo route. Brush on and have the vac to hand to clear when rinsing. Will do a test one first down the side of the house first.
Thanks guys.
