Sensible  :)

Its what I have done on my older poles - no point in changing for the sake of it and the breath of life that these new clamps breath into an older pole is quite amazing.

Although I honestly believe there would be at least another year in my clx22 if i upgraded the clamps, apart from the base section it is now pink! and after exactly 3 years service it has earnt its retirement to the shed.  :)

ordered a slx22 yesterday  :)
I also have a slx30 which is over 3 years old & in great condition so i have ordered clamps for this  :)

Never had a problem with the old clamps? I only ever extend my slx 22 to the stops when I have needed the maximum length...
The only problem I have had is the pole base ends splitting but doing this on for four pluss years and cutting back has made my 22 in to now only probably only a 18. So my thinking is a 25 should last at least six years (if looked after) .
My old set of 22s (18.5?) i will cut down a brush and use for some narrow modern sash windows which seem to be the in window on new houses in my part of the woods ;-)
