Time for a new CRB
« on: May 06, 2013, 06:34:41 pm »
It's time for a new CRB and i'm very tempted by the TM4 and Host Reliant. I do on occasion do VLM but not often so it's main use will be agitation. Host looks the most practicle to use, easy removal of brushes and drop down cable guard, but i'm drawn to TM4 as brushes and the machine are more keenly priced. Either way it's a descent chunk of change so want to buy wisely.

Anyone owned both or experience with either your views appreciated, or if you have either for sale in good conditon would be happy to chat over a fair price ;D

I have had several of the older host machines and have had a tm4 for quite a few years. The tm4 has been a brilliant piece of kit and has been running hard for years without any problems or breakdowns can reccomend it.

Thanks Peter, what brushes do you use, been using an envirodri gen4 but changing brushes or removing for cleaning is a right pain. I think the TM4 uses a similar design are they easier to work on, do the brush bars remove easy. It's the only thing that is swaying me towards the Host

Hi Simon
Like Peter I have had my Tm4 for 10 trouble free
Years.
I have a set of white stiff brushes that come with
the machine and a set of black soft brushes which
I use 90% of the time on domestic cleaning.
Brush changing is quick & simple and with a long handle
Brush to clean the bar of fluff etc its a brilliant bit of kit
that I would fully recommend

David

It's the BMW of CRB machines... Built to last but a little pricey compared to the cheaper models...
I Have the larger TM5... Gives you the wow factor whilst agitation... Wouldn't be without it!

I also have an old TM 4 with a good 15 years of service. We upgraded it to take renovator trays which is a wise move.

I cannot say I have ever had any trouble removing the brushes, but do not change very often. I tend to clean the machine most of the time with the brushes in and just remove them periodically for a thorough clean.
