I've advertised in a parish magazine since I started up.
The one I do costs £12 per year. Great value for money. Only have to get one job to pay for it.
The beauty of the parish mag rather than other magazines that get delivered is that the parish mag have the church / communal thinking type of people who read it. These people are usually the ones who have lived in the area for ever. So the majority of customers you pick up from one, will generally network.

In terms of response, I might only pick up 3 or 4 jobs per year from it now. The 1st 2 or 3 years 8 or 9 X that.
I've been in it for 10 years now.
