Gaining customers.
« on: March 20, 2013, 09:45:27 pm »
How do you guys get customers. I'm door knocking & it's proving very successful. Started at ten, stopped at one then started again at four til half five. Got eight customers plus made sure they had not got anyone at present. A few hadn't seen their wc for a few months so declined but left card. Would have been another four had it not been for that. Any tips really appreciated.

Doesn't matter weather they have a cleaner or not price away. Other window cleaners won't pay your bills and if the customer is happy they will stay where they are. Every man for himself imo. As for your question
Get some quote sheets made up with set prices on for each type of house like lee Pryor did.
Quote sheeting(flyers) with prices and regular canvassing will build you the work load you want

Best doorknocking hours are 5-8 pm as so many more people will be home, if you have time sundays that by far is the best day to get out as most people are more laid back and relaxed and also loads will be in.
When you give them your price always say its just or its only £10 a month or whatever yourprice is and say it realy calm without hesitation as its the most important part in gaining that new job, a slight hesitation whilst talking money leads potential new customers astray as feel they are being conned or missled.
Dont let a bad evenings canvass get you down as you will get more bad days than yes, try and see it like every no is 1 stepcloser to a yes. Have a monthly target to aim for so if you hit it in 3 weeks you can give yourself a week/weekend off canvassing.
Stay focused and all will slot into place, you will get many messers and 1 off's but with experiance after a few months canvassing you will learn to spot the types from the word go.
Feel free to mail me pureaqua@hotmail.co.uk if you need any tipsor motivation advice on canvassing and best areas/best properties to target to max out your canvassing hours to full benefit instead of wasting time and doors.

Best of luck.
