earlier post on skills shortage spawned a thought re the the downturn/recession.

i remember the recession in the late 80s early 90s but it doesn't compare to this one as its global.

big names falling down against thriving online companies (no surprise when their deliveries, service and efficiency are often superior to shops.

but when do you all think we will start to come out of recession and will the work be bountiful and more than we can all cope with??

just an upbeat thought that could happen?.......

its on the up.    about 2 yrs ago i picked up work from a builder puttin up luxury homes,theyv expanded steadily since and no home is under 500k ,building about 7 at a time ,that says summat

in the last 3 weeks i've got £300  worth of work, some of it 2monthly though, & i'm just banging in quotes for 2 blocks of flats & 3 of my mates who clean trad are picking up work all the time, 1 has had to go 6 weekly so he can do it all.  seems ok up here

work hard and do a good job for a fair price.canvass and leaflet if you want more work.

this is all you can do really.there is still people willing to pay for a good,reliable window cleaner.the problem is there are a lot more window cleaners about and most customers have had rubbish unreliable window cleaners in the past so they take a few months before they trust you esp the more affluent customers in nice big posh houses!

but once on board most of my customers wouldnt jump ship when they find out how i operate as im a lot more professional than window cleaners they ve had before.i know because they tell me!!
